You don’t need to contact the regional office to get an E-Identity Card. After receiving the confirmation email, visit the official page of the Samarth portal and get the ID proof online. E-Sign is used on the modern ID card.

Open the login panel (https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in).

Type your username and password.

Enter the captcha verification code

Click on login button to access the Samarth student login portal

Click on “my application.” Once you’ve gone through the portal

Copy the above enrollment number.

Click on the download button

A pop-up window will open and ask for the password you need to paste your enrollment number.

Note: The IGNOU ID card download by enrollment no link before January 2020 session is not working anymore for the last few months. 

For the old candidate before January 2019, you must go to the regional office or follow the below steps.

How to download IGNOU ID card with enrollment number

You need to follow the steps below.

1. Go to the IGNOU student portal.

3. For the fresh learner, click “New Registration.”

4. Select Programme

5. Enter full name

6. Type your enrollment number

7. Click on the box and enter the captcha code.

8. Hit the “submit.” option

9. Open your email and paste the OTP.

10. Create a password for the account.

11. Use your password (enrollment number) to log in again

12. Click on “Services” from the left side menu

13. Go to the bottom of the page and click on ID-card box

 14. Now click the download ID card button.

15. Enter your enrollment number to open the documents.

Note: Only CBCS and new students need to do this step.

How to reset IGNOU student Portal password

• Click on the reset password button
• Select Programme code from the drop-down menu
• Enter Enrolment no and hit the submit link
• Enter the OTP received to your email/mobile
• Click on submit
• Now you can create your new password.
